ACH Payment
Portnoff Law Associates does not charge a fee for online payments if you are paying via ACH. You should check with your banking institution to see if they charge a fee.
Credit Card/Debit Card
Certain municipalities have adopted legislation that enables Portnoff Law Associates to offer online payment for credit cards and debit cards through ACI Payments, Inc. ACI Payments charges a convenience fee for this service that will be an additional charge to the payee. When using a credit card, ACI Payments charges 3.25% of the payment amount, with a minimum fee of $5.23. When using a debit card, ACI Payments charges 1.32% of the payment amount, with a minimum fee of $1.32. Neither Portnoff Law Associates, nor the municipalities, school districts, or municipal authorities that it represents, receives any part of these fees.
Checks should be made payable to “Portnoff Law Associates, Ltd.” and mailed to: Portnoff Law Associates, Ltd., P.O. Box 3020, Norristown, PA 19404-3020. Please put your account number in the memo line on your check.

No. Portnoff Law Associates does not accept payments by phone. To make a payment online, please click here or send your payment via mail as directed by the above FAQ.
Your file number is found on the top or bottom left hand corner of correspondence from us and begins with two digits, followed by five digits. There may be additional digits or dashes beyond that, but your file number is the beginning seven digits. (i.e., 20-98765)

Please do not send cash to pay your bill as a security precaution. We will accept payments in cash if paying in person and you must pay the exact amount due, as we cannot make change.
Portnoff Law Associates provides online access for property owners to check their unpaid balances in our claims database located at the Balance Inquiry link below. Options to print and create PDF versions of balances are available.
Portnoff Law Associates does not send out monthly reminders. It is the responsibility of the property owner to make monthly payments pursuant to their plan. There are apps that you can download to help remind you of the due dates of any agreed upon payments.
Portnoff Law Associates does not report to credit agencies. If a lien is filed, it becomes public record and court documents can be researched when applying for credit. After the balance is paid in full, the lien will be marked as satisfied.
PLA does not have copies of the original bills. We can provide the approximate date that a bill was mailed.
